APOD is the professional body for Peer-supported Open Dialogue. We register professionals who are qualified to practice POD, as well as organise trainings for practitioners in the field and help to promote Peer-supported Open Dialogue more widely across mental health services. POD is a collaborative, social model of care where all provision is organised around "network meetings" that bring together the service user, family, friends, clinicians and anyone else who can help and support.

These bodies decide where the money goes across different aspects of healthcare and, as a result, they can also have a significant impact on the actual services that are delivered. Every CCG has a patient reference or similar group where local people can get involved and have their say about the kind of services they want to see.
